Bob Amsbury, WA
Bob & Claudia are the General Program Chairman for this convention. Bob has been calling for more than 50 years. He calls and teaches for the Diamond Squares here in Spokane, WA. Teaching is a passion for Bob. Bob & Claudia have chaired many state festivals and been involved in the 2020 National Convention in Spokane.
This will be the first USA West Convention for both Bob and Claudia.

Craig Abercrombie, OR
Craig started square dancing in 1962 and began his square dance calling career in 1969. Craig is currently calling over 200 nights a year across the United States (23 States so far) and Canada. Craig and his wife (Judy) reside in the state of Oregon where he maintains a home program that ranges from Mainstream through A2 and cues Round Dances Phase 2 thru 4.

Gary Baker, WA
Gary began square dancing in Spokane in 1975, at the age of 15. He then began calling in 1993 in Anchorage, Alaska. Gary and his beautiful wife, Tami, have been married for 40 years. They have 3 grown children and 2 awesome grandsons.
They met through square dancing at Washington State University in 1983, and have been swinging and do-sa-doing together ever since!
Gary is current club caller and teacher for the Model T Squares in Spokane, WA, and also teaches lessons for the Coeurly Q’s in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Gary calls and teaches at the Mainstream and Plus levels. He belong to the Spokane Callers and Cuers Association and serves as Vice President/Treasurer of that organization.

Adam Christman, WA
Adam has been calling for most of his life. He got his first singing call record at age three, but didn't do a full dance until he was around 10 and started teaching at age 12. He has called in multiple states, Canada and overseas in Japan. He is the owner/producer of Rhythm Records.
Adam, his wife (Samantha), and their four awesome kiddos live in Spokane, WA.

Dan Clairmont, TX
Dan went to his first caller's school in 2009. Dan calls SSD thru A2. Dan has also started, and taught, a “Handicapables” class/club in Mission Viejo, CA, called "Hand-n-Hand" for the Adult Special Needs. This was the most rewarding experience to see the smiles and hear the laughter of the dancers

Bryan Clark, B.C., Canada
Bryan Clark has been dancing for 44 years and has been calling for 36 years. He has called at some of the biggest festivals in Europe, such as the iPAC and Ericcson Festivals. He calls from Mainstream up to C1. Additionally, he has served as a Judge at the Pacific Northwest Teen Square Dance Festival for the last 32 years. He has called in all but four states in the US. Bryan is eager to see you in Spokane.

Doug has been calling for more than 50 years! He is known nationally and internationally. He is a CALLERLAB Accredited Caller Coach. Doug is the owner/producer of Chinook Records.
Doug and his wife (Priscilla) live in the Spokane area on the beautiful Geenbluff, WA. Doug and Priscilla have been on the USA West policy board for many years and have attended all but one USA West convention.

Bob Riggs, CO
Bob and Allynn Riggs have been calling, cuing, and teaching squares and rounds as a team since 1978. They have coached three different dance exhibition groups since 1978. They believe that square and round dancing belong together as two parts of a whole. Both have served or are currently serving on the Board of Directors of The Lloyd Shaw Foundation, having become members in 1989, and Bob is currently the President of the LSF while Allynn has edited the LSF’s quarterly publication, The American Dance Circle since 2015 They have been members of CALLERLAB since 1984 where they each hold the chair position of a committee. Bob has been a member of CALLERLAB’s Board of Governors for nine years and served on the Executive Committee for five years. He is also an Accredited Caller Coach. They have three caller-run square dance clubs and have been the club caller/cuer for the Sunflower Squares in Castle Pines, CO since 1984. They joined ROUNDALAB and the Colorado Round Dance Association in 2011 when Allynn took over Bob’s cuing portion of their square dance business, Square Dance Etc. They call and cue throughout the Rocky Mountain region as well as at National and regional festivals.

Keith Brown, CA
Keith began dancing in Gilroy, California in 1989. He met his wife of 31 years at the Santa Clara Valley Jubilee in San Jose in 1989 — she was his Corner in a square he was dancing in. Keith began calling in 1991 after graduating from Bill Davis’ and Kip Garvey’s Caller’s school. Keith called for several adult and youth clubs in the Los Banos, San Jose and Monterey Peninsula areas in the 90’s. Keith returned to Square Dancing and Calling after a long hiatus in 2016 and currently call for the Lucky Steppers in San Jose, California. He makes frequent guest appearances in the San Jose area calling through Advanced. I was the last caller for the Sage Stompers in Seaside, a group I called for in the 1990’s and the last 8 years before it folded in 2024 after 68 years.

Keith's philosophy is that any level can be fun and interesting and should be called in such a manner as to "stretch" the floor a little. Fast, flowing and fun is the best dancing.

Sue Harris, CA
Sue & Phil Harris started round dancing in 1975 & started cueing in 1989, & started teaching in 1990. They’ve been married for 59 years & have enjoyed their time round dancing all over this
nation. They’ve written over 85 dances, Sue writes the dances & Phil critiques them before we present them to you the dancers.
Presently they are teaching 4 classes weekly, phase 2-4+, in the San Jose & Santa Cruz (CA) areas. They are Past Presidents of the Northern Round dance Teacher’s Association and Vice President of the USAWest Policy Board
Phil is retired first from the Air Force in 1985, then from civilian industry in 2009. Now they can enjoy round dancing full time & their other love – Cruising.

Randy Pratt, NM
Randy & Lorraine began square dancing in 2009 after moving to New Mexico. They started Round Dancing in 2015. Randy started cueing in 2016 and began teaching in 2017.

Mary Townsend-Manning, UT
Mary and Bob teach beginning, intermediate and advanced round dance, and lead Carousel Club #367. They have been featured cuers and teachers at festivals and special dances in Utah, Nevada, California, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Missouri and Minnesota. They have taught phase II-V dances at National Square Dance conventions, USA West and ICBDA, and have demonstrated phase V dances at ICBDA Conventions and Round-A-Rama.
Mary and Bob are members of Roundalab and serve as chairman and members of various committees. They are also members of ICBDA and RMTCA (Rocky Mountain Teacher and Cuer Association). They serve on the ICBDA Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) as Secretary and are the current Standards Coordinator for Roundalab. They are the General Chair for the 50th ICBDA Annual Convention in St. George, Utah.

Tom Jenks, UT
Tom & Jullie live in Roy, Utah and have been here since Aug 1999. Jullie started Square Dancing in California in 1974, Tom started Square Dancing while in the Air Force and stationed at Hahn, Germany in 1976. We met at a club square dance in 1978 and got married in 1979. We have continued to enjoy square dancing with a small break to raise a family.
Tom has been cuing since 2008 and teaches Beginners thru intermediate.
We are current members of ICBDA, Round-A-Lab and also are on the RAL G&A committee.

Gary Dean & Julie Skead, B.C., Canada
Gary hails from Prince George, BC where he began square dancing in 1973 with his late wife Barb. Gary fell in love with round dancing and was eager to teach others. He attended a Round-a Lab Teachers College in 2002 and has been cueing and teaching ever since. He has cued and taught at many Nationals and BC Festivals. Currently Gary is the cuer for the Prince George Northern Twisters square dance club.
Julie also hails from Prince George where she started square dancing in 2011. She got the round dance bug in 2017 after attending Gary and Barb’s dance classes. She has travelled throughout Canada, the United States and Germany to dance and to expand her knowledge. Julie has been Gary’s teaching partner since 2023
Sandi Kremer, CA
Sandi is a native of San Francisco where she started her passion for Social Dancing over 40 years ago and has since added Round Dancing in 2013. Her love for music and the arts started at an early age where it has consistently remained a big part of her life. Sandi trained at a Ballroom Teachers College in San Francisco in American Standard and Latin Rhythms, participates in dance groups, continually developes her dance technique and teaching skills through education and practice. Sandi began Cueing in 2019 and found with her background that Round Dancing was an ideal fit and soon after began giving classes in Round Dance. She is a member of Roundalab International, ICBDA, SCVSDA, and Northern California Round Dance Teachers Association. Sandi works with her partner Paul and together they host a variety of Round Dances that include all Phase Levels and teach Round Dance lessons. She also cues regularly for Square and Round Dance clubs and additionally she has been cueing via internet (zoom) since 2020. Sandi genuinely enjoys cueing, teaching, creating choreography and keeping everyone dancing.


Kevin, Klein, CA
Kevin & Vicki Klein started round dancing in 1981 in southern California. Since then, they have attended numerous round dance classes, clinics, and dance getaways.
In 1992 Kevin & Vicki relocated to northern California where they raised their two sons. They returned to dancing in 2005 after a 13-year hiatus, and Kevin’s interest in cueing and teaching resurfaced. They joined and are current members of ROUNDALAB, NCRDTA, ICBDA, NCSDA, and SDCANC.
Kevin and Vicki have taught at eight of the last nine USA West Square Dance Conventions (they missed the 2015 USA West Convention in Helena due to illness); and have also taught at numerous California State, Golden State Round Up, and Harvest Hoedown Square Dance Conventions and Festivals'

Theresa Ray, WA
Theresa has been cuing in the Spokane Area since 1993. She grew up dancing with the Wild Rose Ramblers and then went on to be club cuer for the Shirts 'n Skirts, Hoodoo Valley Hoedowners, and a few years with the Coeurly Q's of North Idaho. She recently returned to cueing after taking a few years off to raise her family. She teaches and cues Phase II - IV and is an active member of Roundalab.
Sherrie Drainville, ID
Sherri began square dancing in 1978. After a 35 year break she returned to square dancing when she moved to Caldwell Idaho in 2016. She began cueing in 2018 as a hobby. She has been cueing for the Canyon County Stars for the last few years as well as on the road when she visits clubs around the United States.

Judy Keller-Smith, CA
Judy Keller-Smith has been a social dance teacher for 30 years, and going to receive her 30-year award from Roundalab. She is an active member: Roundalab, Southern California Round Dance Teachers Association, International Choreographed Ballroom Teachers Association, and Ballroom Dance Teacher’s Information Services and has a Carousel Club. A retired schoolteacher by day, working with low-income at-risk students, Judy considers dancing the sanity balance in her life. Judy, and square dance caller/instructor/cuer husband, Jim, teach five round dance classes per week and cue for eight clubs, plus activities, and weekends. Jim and Judy met dancing and have been married 24 years. Besides dancing, rounds and squares, Judy and Jim love to spend time with the grandkids, travel, read, write, and hang around the house. Judy and Jim work together at least once a month at various clubs and activities.
“To improve dancing skills, we enjoy dancing with each other, and have a ballroom coach. Dancing keeps you fit both mentally and physically regardless of age. Keep dancing!”During the pandemic, Judy and Jim set up a zoom studio in their garage and zoomed dances, square and round, and classes seven days a week for two and a half years. Over 600 people held a connection through these Zoom activities that also included trivia, scavenger hunts, and chat times. We laughed together and cried together when we lost a member. Group members came from all over the USA and western Europe. A you tube channel was created for those who were in another time zone having to dance at 3 or 4 in the morning.People danced in their kitchens, living rooms, in hallways, patios, and garage floors some only 4 x 4 feet. The connections and friendships created during the lengthy pandemic will be special for years to come.Fun Fact – Meeting many of these people in person at conventions or through visits is thrilling.


Linda Liberti, AZ
Linda met Mike, her husband to be, in 1973 at an open house in Rochester, New York. He always told everyone that she was hooked on him from the start. She had gotten her watch caught in his shirt after a promenade!

She took round dance lessons in 1974 and began teaching with another partner in 1975. Mike was already cueing and they eventually combined their teaching and cueing talents and them married in 1979.
​
They moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona in 1992 and began teaching and cueing there in 1993. They cued for several area clubs and were asked to cue for Valley Singles when it was formed and she still cues for them and teaches a class. They also hosted several all day dinner dances.
​
They have been featured leaders in Arizona, New York, California and New Mexico and have cued and taught at several USA West Conventions and National Square Dance conventions.
When Mike passed away in 2012 Linda decided to continue her round dance career.
​
They have choreographed several dances including Yellow Bird, Blue Orchids, It’s Almost Tomorrow, Tonight, Just Foolin’ Around, and Oceans of Love.
Linda is a member of Roundalab.
